The Resilience Project

The Resilience Project (TRP) is an evidence based positive mental health program to build resilience and young people’s capacity to deal with adversity. The program is based on four key principles:

  • Gratitude
  • Empathy
  • Mindfulness
  • Emotional Literacy.

At Stockdale Road, TRP strategies are embedded into our daily teaching practice and school culture. Teachers deliver one hour lessons a week of explicit teaching of strategies through the curriculum. As well as ongoing informal sessions when opportunities arise to embed the four key principles.

What Our Students Say

Aspen, 3/4B

“I love learning about The Resilience Project because it teaches children how to calm down if they are feeling anxious or upset during a situation. For example, you can use balloon breathing or 5 finger breathing to help catch your breath when you are angry.”

Zoe 5/6TB

“The Resilience Project helps me to focus on my work and to help calm me down and regulate my emotions when I am upset.”

Tristan, Prep H

“I like practicing mindfulness in The Resilience Project, it is relaxing to colour.”

Tom, 2W

“Resilience Project helps you to calm down and teaches you strategies for when your emotions come to you. My favourite part is meditation and exercising my muscles. “
