School Captains

At Stockdale Road Primary School, our Year 6 School Captains play a key leadership role, acting as positive role models and contributing to a strong, inclusive school culture. They help run our fortnightly assemblies, support the organisation of school events, represent the school at community functions and regularly step in to assist with daily school life.
Their dedication and initiative inspire those around them and help foster a connected and supportive environment. School Captains are selected through a formal nomination process that includes speeches and voting by both peers and staff.

Lexi Fabris

Hi, my name is Lexi and I am a 2026 School Captain. The reason why I wanted to become School Captain is because I know I will always be a good school leader and represent the school as a good place and a happy safe environment. So I can work with the principal on some ideas for the school.

I like being a School Captain because it gives me a chance to show the teachers and parents I am a good example around younger children and that I can do anything anyone asks for.

This year, I hope everyone looks up to me as a good School Captain and knows they can come to me for help in any situation. I will show new people around the school if they need me to and I will tell them what’s best for them.

My favourite subject at school is P.E. because it gives me a chance to run around and have fun with my friends, and I love going to school to learn and see my friends.

My goal for the future is to become a great leader, grow up and have a good job to help the Gippsland community.

Charlie Houchen

Hi, my name is Charlie and I wanted to become School Captain because I really looked up to the School Captains last year and I thought it was cool speaking and signing at assemblies.

I like being a School Captain because I like doing the podcast and I hope that some people will look up to me and the other School Captains. By being a School Captain, I hope no one is ever scared to ask me a question.

My favourite hobby is basketball because I get to hangout with some of my friends that don’t go to Stockdale. My favourite subject at school is Maths or P.E. An interesting fact about myself is I have 7 siblings. My goal for the future is to be a great person and just help people when I have the chance to.

Something that I’m looking forward to as a school captain is the Dream and Lead Conference where I’m going with my fellow School Captains. I’m also looking forward to laying the wreath on ANZAC Day.

Laken Warne

Hi, my name is Laken and I wanted to become a School Captain because I love being a great leader and I love being a great representative towards the younger students. Being a School Captain is an amazing honour yet it’s hard sometimes, but it’s worth it because you get to read at assemblies and get a very cool badge. The thing I like doing the most is sitting on the chairs at the beginning and watching all the cute Preps walk in, and see all my friends.

This year, I hope to be a great School Captain because I want to show other students how to be an awesome leader, and also make them more confident to have a shot at possibly being a Captain.

Some of my favourite hobbies are playing basketball and footy. In school, my favourite subject is Physical Education/ P.E. because I love running around. An interesting fact about me is that I play squad basketball, and every couple of weeks I go to Melbourne or Bendigo for a tournament.

In the future, I am hoping to take feedback from being a school leader and bring that towards my sports. Thanks everyone for taking my feedback on being a School Captain, hope you have a great day!
