How to Enrol

Eligibility

To be eligible to enrol in Prep for 2027, your child must turn 5 years old by 30 April 2027. Your child is legally required to start school in the year they turn six.

 

School zones and Placement policy

Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school. Zoning is determined based on your permanent residential address.

Our school zone can be found on findmyschool.vic.gov.au, which provides the most up-to-date information about school zones in Victoria.

The Department provides guidance through the Placement Policy to ensure students have access to their designated neighbourhood school, while also allowing them the choice to attend other schools, subject to capacity limits.

2027 Prep Enrolment

If you shall have a Prep enrolment for 2026, please ring the school for an immediate tour and meeting.

  • 2027 Prep enrolment open on Monday 20 April 2026.
  • Get to know the school and attend the Open day on Thursday 14 May 2026.
  • Submit your enrolment application online by Friday 31 July 2026.
  • Schools notify parents/carers of the outcome of enrolment applications between 3 and 14 August 2026.
  • Parents and carers who receive an enrolment offer should respond to the offer by 28 August 2026.
  • During Term 4, 2026, take part in enrolment information and transition sessions.
  • Prepare your child to start Foundation (Prep) in January 2027.

Enrolment applications submitted after Friday 31 July 2026 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the Department’s Placement Policy.

Steps to enrol your child

Find below the steps to enrol your child at our school from Grade 1 to Grade 6.

  1. All potential enrolments during the current year must meet with a member of the Principal team before the enrolment is accepted. Call the school office to book an appointment.
    For the following year, Prep parents are encouraged to attend Open days and then book a meeting with a Principal team member if required.
  2. Download and complete the enrolment pack which include an application form. You can also collect one in person at the office.
  3. Collate the following required documents:
    • Completed enrolment pack
    • Evidence of identity and date of birth (birth certificate or passport)
    • Immunisation certificate
  4. Return the completed enrolment pack, along with the required documents, in person or via email to traralgon.ps.stockdale@education.vic.gov.au
