Junior School Council
At Stockdale Road Primary School, the Junior School Council (JSC) empowers students in Years 3–6 to become active, compassionate leaders who make a real difference in our school community. JSC members play a vital role in representing the student voice, sharing ideas, and leading initiatives that promote kindness, inclusion, and school pride.
The JSC organises a variety of fundraising events, such as Donut Days and Icy Pole Days, with proceeds directed towards enhancing school facilities and supporting charitable causes. For example, during “Do It For Dolly Day,” students wore blue to promote kindness and raised money to support anti-bullying initiatives.
Beyond fundraising, the JSC coordinates special events like the Big Freeze and Day for Daniel, fostering a sense of community and raising awareness of important social issues. Members also provide regular updates to the school community, ensuring transparency and encouraging wider participation.
Through these activities, the JSC cultivates respectful, caring leaders who exemplify our school values and demonstrate the power of student-led action.
Students from Years 3 to 6 can become JSC members by writing a letter explaining why they would be great candidates, and then presenting their speech to staff and peers!
