Paddock to Plate
Paddock to Plate teaches students how to grow fruit and vegetables and provides rich, hands-on learning experiences that foster a deeper understanding of where food comes from and how it is produced.
Through planting, caring for, and harvesting their own produce, students develop important gardening skills and a sense of responsibility for living things.
Integrating sustainability practices, such as composting food scraps and garden waste, encourages environmentally conscious behaviours and highlights the importance of reducing waste and nurturing soil health.
Cooking with harvested produce allows students to connect the garden to the kitchen, building essential life skills in food preparation and nutrition.
This holistic approach supports learning across Science, Design and Technology, and Health, while promoting teamwork, problem-solving, and lifelong sustainable habits.
All students attend a one-hour intensive Paddock to Plate session each week.
