Community Involvement
Community Involvement
Stockdale Road Primary School is a family-oriented community that warmly values and welcomes parents and carers to be involved in helping, supporting, and encouraging their children across a wide range of school activities.
The following list provides some examples of how you could be involved:
- Swimming program – assistance with supervision
- Listening to children read
- Going on camps and excursions
- Coaching or assisting in our sports program
- Assisting with general fundraising activities; Stocky Meal Deal, stalls or events.
- Standing for election as a School Councillor
There are also many opportunities throughout the year for families to participate and support, including our fortnightly Friday school assemblies where we present our GEM Awards, and special events such as Sports Day, School Concert, the Colour Run and more.
Your presence in these occasions not only strengthens our school community but can also provide the encouragement and motivation your child needs to thrive at school.
School Council
The School Council is made up of both parents and staff and is responsible for defining school policy. Nominations are called for annually, with half of the membership replaced each year. We strongly encourage parents to consider nominating for School Council positions, as they play an important role in supporting and shaping the quality of education provided to our students.
Parents who are not members of the School Council also have opportunities to participate in School Council sub-committees. Please note that only elected members of the School Council hold voting rights.
The School Council meets twice each term, for a total of eight meetings per year.
All parent helpers and visitors are required to sign in via the iPad located at the office. This is to enable us to account for the exact number of people at the school at any given time.
All helpers need to provide a current Working With Children’s Check (WWCC) to the office before they can participate.
You can apply for a WWCC online or you can collect a form from the post office.
