Learning Fire Safety the Fun Way!

6 May, 2026

Our Prep students enjoyed visits from local firefighters, learning important fire safety skills and trying real equipment as part of their Health Unit.

Our Preps loved their visits from our local firefighters this term as part of our Health Unit! In the first session, they learnt all about fire safety, understanding the difference between safe and unsafe fires, what a smoke detector is and the loud “beep, beep, beep” sound it makes, and the importance of calling 000 in an emergency. They also talked about choosing a safe meeting place, like the letterbox where everyone can go after leaving the house. In the second session, students got hands-on using the fire hose and even had a turn sitting in the fire truck. It was such an exciting and memorable experience for our Prep students!
