reporting to parents & homework

At Stockdale Road Primary School we provide parents and families with a written report on their child's progress twice a year.

Our mid-year and end of year reports together aim to provide families with:

  • Comprehensive information about your child's progress in all areas including academic and social development.

  • Targeted areas of further development best suited to improve your child's learning.

  • Specific strategies that the school will implement to improve your child's learning.

  • Strategies that you at home can use to help your child.

  • Personal reflections by your child about their learning.

We also hold 'Getting to Know You Interviews' at the beginning of each year. This is a great opportunity for parents and teachers to meet and discuss student's needs for the year ahead.

Mid-year interviews give students, parents and teachers the opportunity to discuss each child's progress and develop future learning goals.

Parents are encouraged to discuss their students learning with their teacher at any time during the year. However, we do ask such discussions are held outside teaching time and that an appointment is made in advance.

The homework set at each year level at Stockdale Road Primary School is guided by our School Council endorsed Homework Policy.

Homework helps students by complementing and reinforcing classroom learning, fostering good lifelong learning and study habits, and providing an opportunity for students to be responsible for their own learning.
